Investment in IT is more profitable than investing in marketing or product development, according to an MIT Sloan study. However, the benefits are distributed very unevenly between companies. For some, IT is just an expense, for others it is creating increased sales and cost savings far in excess of what is being spent on it.
Solventor has made a publishing agreement with the Chamber of Commerce on a book, that describes why companies get such different returns on their IT spend, and what is needed from the company management to turn IT from a technically oriented cost center, that in worst case can hinder development, into a key resource that enables the execution of company strategy and increases its profitability.
The book is scheduled to be published in spring 2013, in Finnish.
